Farm Pond, Lake Cochituate Fishing Report

Post Irene...tough Fishing This AM.

Arrived at farm pond around 5:45 to find a downed tree!! Jumped over the tree and started with the topwater. Threw the jitterbug, both and frog colored. Then switched to a bass colored popper and then to a firetiger. I Fished the boat launch area for about 1hr and then took off to Lake Cochituate. The gate to enter the park off rt30 was closed so I drove to some local streets and walked into the woods. I Fished the northeastern side of the middle lake for about 3hrs without any bass hits. I used mostly senko's, tried top water...nada. I picked up a few palm sided sunnies on a beetle spin (the things i resort to for some action). Man fishing is tough post hurricane, lol. I finally drove to Woerd street in Waltham and fished the charles river off that dock. I caught what looked to be about 13" bass, possibly pushing 1.25lbs (didn't care enough to weight it) on a crawfish colored jig with craw trailer. fish for about 5hrs of fishing :(
